IMHO you won't see a major difference[P2P] as most programs are still not made to use more than 8 cores. So you can buy 8700 to save your money.

What do you do with you PC?  Games?  Get 8700 for sure.  If you are running virtual environments or editing and rendering video, things that take advantage of lots of threads then you could consider the 7900.

See, as you climb the ladder further the price to performance ratio goes down. A $120 processor will not perform 2x more than a $60 one. It will perform 1.5x to that.

Also, try to find a little used one. You can save $50 with that.

thats right. also i9 is overpriced, because its the top model 8th gen.
