360 Controller & Win 8.1, HELP

I've downloaded the drivers for it ( had to change to win 8 compatibility from driver ) and it's recognized in device manager but WTH, no functionality.

 

It's a play and charge wireless controller, but I'm using it wired. I mainly need it for battlefield 4, jets/choppers, and as of right now I can't get it to respond at all to the game nor can I bind anything to it. 

 

Anyone know what gives? Would really appreciate help sorting this mess, I refuse to use a kb and m for air vehicles ( mouse for pitch, good lord )
