I was wondering and thinking about getting a new phone? I isn't an immediate issue, so I can wait. Thus, I am asking whether is should get 5T rn, or wait for some upcoming phone,

the 5t is good value atm, just dont give the company your credit card details

y tho

I just got a 5T and I love it a lot but, if you buy one make sure to pay with Paypal or, wait until they fix the breach.

Basically what happened is someone was keylogging the fields where you enter your credit card's data and stole the information.

I got screwed by this so just watch out.

I haven't had anything fishy happen to my card and I hope it stays that way.

Here's the email they sent me after this incident:

Spoiler

Dear user,

We are deeply sorry to inform you that following an attack on our systems, your credit card data may have been compromised. This data includes the card number, expiry date and security code that you entered at oneplus.net.

As soon as we were made aware of the attack, we launched an urgent investigation. We suspended credit card payments and have been working with a cybersecurity firm to reinforce our systems.

We recommend that you check your card statements and report any charges you don't recognize to your bank. They will help you initiate a chargeback and prevent any financial loss. If you run into any problems, or need further guidance, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Meanwhile, we are looking for a suitable way to offer one year's credit monitoring to affected users. Credit monitoring is a service that alerts you to any abnormal or fraudulent use of your credit card. We will be in touch over email with details on how to claim your credit monitoring.

Once again, we cannot apologize enough for this incident and the trouble it may have caused you. We have informed the relevant authorities to monitor your card status, and will take measures to ensure this never happens again. If you have any questions, our customer support team is available at support@oneplus.net.

Our deepest apologies,

The OnePlus Team

Wow. I don't think I would have found out about this without stumbling across your post, but then again, I only pay for things online using PayPal so I'd be protected. However, what concerns me more than this data breach / attack is that OnePlus thought using Magento was a good idea for their online store. xD:D^_^

Is oneplus.net affected by the Magento bug?
Source: https://blog.sucuri.net/2015/04/impacts-of-a-hack-on-a-magento-ecommerce-website.html

Oneplus.net was initially built on the Magento eCommerce platform. However, since 2014 we have been re-building the entire website with custom code, and credit card payments were never implemented in Magento's payment module at all. So no, we shouldn't be affected.
