Graphics Card Prices

So I was going around looking for a card for my somewhat budget pc, and I then found the 1060 6 GB, I was kinda wondering why I hadn't seen this in any other builds, plz tell me why I'm not seeing it lower than $500, my friend got his 1080 for 500, I just need a1060, will this price go down later on in the year?

Cryptocurrency mining has driven up GPU prices 300% in the past month or two.

 

You're best to wait a few months, or suffer with a lower-end card that will still probably be overpriced.

Law of Supply and Demand.  The greater the demand, the lower the supply, therefore they can stick the consumer for whatever they think they can get away with.

If you get them from certain places the price will be the exact same as msrp.

Sign up for Nowinstock.net alerts and sit on Amazon with an auto refresh extension in chrome set to 5 seconds. That's what i did today and saw tons of GPUs come in and out of stock at very close to MSRP. Ended up ordering a strix 1080 ti at a great price. Its gonna take some patience but its possible

GPU prices have been super high that it will probably be best to wait until they lower.
