I just spent the last 2 weeks researching litecoin mining and I believe it's time to go ham. I have a budget of about 5000 - 10000 dollars for this project and I'm willing to take the risk.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2kpgV

This is the current build that I would like to use (parts subject to change due to part availability). I would like to buy about 3-4 of these if possible, however Im still doing some research on this before I start. The reason I'm posting this to here is to hear some criticism upon my build and if there are any better routes to go such as 290s or nvidia cards (LOL). Anyway Criticize away!

More like Roast ham >_< and the spending that much isn't that necessary atm, the mining value and difficulty has really risen quite a fair bit.

Please become a member of the Linus Tech Tips forum, keep writing smug remarks & let us love you. Peace out.

sorry but you sound like a tw*t , asking people how to spend your money really winds me up (especially when you have $5000 - $10000), is it really burning a hole in your pocket that bad that you have to blow it all on a mining rig , which isent really a hobby, invest in a gaming rig around $1500 - $3000 make it fully watercooled and then put the rest in the bank and spend it slowly on stuff like monitors, keyboards, mice, and speakers, also buy a car or something , but dont blow it all on one mining rig which will be pointless , make a storage server as well as the gaming rig i said , have fun with it

Like I said I made this post in order to read off some criticism. Seems like yours and megadark are the only serious posts xD. I did think 5000-10000 dollars was a "little" bit much but do you think Litecoin mining is unprofitable even with a single rig? Because even if this rig fails have 3 280xs to play with. And I do have a gaming computer actually but its SLI 770s so not mining.

There is coming a machine on the market to mine Bitcoin with. Wich will mine 2,1 Bitcoin a day. If im correct it was $12000

So that will be around a week till you get even. I currently dont have the name of it. The machine looked like a motherboard with 4cpu's on it with some tower coolers.. At work now, will search this when i get home. Im not sure If it was on the market yet. Maybe invest in that? I might look for a few people to invest in it to buy one with 2 or 3 people. Then share the profit ofcourse.
