TL;DR 1080ti fps stutter even though its 144FPS locked during firefights.

I am currently running a 8700k 4.9ghz 1080ti build (GPU watercooled). it seems that during intense firefights my game will stutter and get choppy even though the FPS is constant at 144fps locked. Note that I am using a core P3 case with the "premium riser cable" Is this a hardware problem eg, the riser cable or is it a software problem not being tweaked properly eg, in the nvidia control panel?

P.S Games like overwatch and PUBG is really noticeable, sometimes killing floor 2 too.

PUBG is notoriously unopimized and buggy so that is no surprise. The others could be lag from internet or possibly your resoultion. what resoultion you run? 1440P or 1080?

I ran both just to test them out, though I upscale to 1.78x with nvidia control panel as my main resolution.

So, just to clarify, the FPS counter is showing 144, but the actual gameplay is choppy?

Are you able to record a clip?

no dip as far as I can tell, there was once instance where I have confirmed that my FPS was locked at 144 but it was choppy when I was looking at a part of the map.

I just did a quick google and it looks like this is a problem a lot of people have with Overwatch, and PUBG is of course always a bit buggy.

Have you got any other games you can test this with?
