USB power control

Goriss

Hey guys,

So recently i bought a small USB lamp something like this:

 Portable-LED-USB-Light-For-Computer-Note

It's all great but there is not any power switch so i have to unplug it from the USB all the time and plug it back again. So i was thinking if there is any app that i could use to control power in selected USB port so that i could turn it on/off just with 1 or 2 click. Tried to look for something like that but no luck.

I think USB ports keep applying power no matter what.

You'll need to install a hardware switch on your USB power things if you want them to work.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

There is such option so computer can control the power of a device. The only question is if there is an app/software that dose it port by port in an easy way.

Your PC must allow it. Thats not common in laptops, but gaming laptops might have app for it. Same goes to most desktop motherboards. Generic power control means that you have to buy hub with power switches.
