Yes. The 1200 is 4 cores / 4 threads, the 1400 is 4 cores / 8 threads. (Thread = virtual core)

If you can, get the 1400 (or 1500x - it has more L3 cache).

Hi guys. Im a student and im kinda tight on budget. Im really confused between a few processors. I mainly need a pc for gaming at decent quality at 1080p. Before getting into the processors this is the build i have thought about.

GPU - Gtx 1050ti 4gb oc by Zotac

Ram- Adata 2400mhz 8gb ddr4 ram

PSU- Corsair vs 450

Mobo- gigabyte H110m for intel or asus A320m for ryzen

Case- Corsair Spec 01

So coming to the processors i dont really know what to choose. Im really confused since in many videos i see i3 7100 defeating ryzen 3 1200 in gaming but i also see in the comments of those videos people stating that ryzen 3 wins and i3s should not exist. Im really confused and do not know what to choose. I play games like GTA 5, Fortnite, Rocket League, Call Of duty and so on. Also for the motherboard, the place i live b350motherboards are expensive and go above my budget so would it be ok if i just get a a320m motherboard?

Thanks in advance.

The comments you read probably talked about how the i3's only a dual core with hyperthreading whereas the ryzen 3's a true quad core. In some games the i3 7100's superior IPC will give better framerates than the ryzen 3, in others where core count is more important, the r3 wins out.

Give us your actual budget.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

If you don’t plan to overclock, yea sure.

As @bleedblue said, the main difference is the actual core count and IPC.

In my opinion, if you cannot afford an i3-8100, do not even consider the i3-7100 and just go Ryzen. The loss in FPS is not too noticeable and you will have on your hands a real quad core CPU.

Furthermore, the Ryzen lineup features nicer and more silent stock coolers compared to Intel’s one.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X Cooler: Corsair H100i Platinum SE Mobo: Asus B550-A GPU: EVGA RTX 2070 XC RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200MHz 16CL 4x8GB (DDR4) SSD0: Crucial MX300 525GB SSD1: Samsung QVO 1TB PSU: NZXT C650 Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow Monitor: Asus VG259QM (240Hz)

My budget is 35000 indian rupees which is 550 us dollars. I want a pc which will last long and give me good performance. I havent ever overclocked cpus before therefore i am scared to go for ryzen to get the max performance out of it. Please help me out.. also as i stated before b350 motherboards are expensive here.

Ohh i see. So just to confirm. Will ryzen last long and be reliable to me? Because i do not want to upgrade till the next 2-3 years. And is it necessary to overclock?

No it’s not necessary to overclock. You should be able to use your A320 board with newer AMD cpus until 2020.

Or you could just upgrade to a B350 at some point if you want to get more juice out of your processor.

I believe that Ryzen is going to be more reliable than a 7100 or a G4560.

IMO dont get a vs450 alot of people say its bad. And go for ryzen since Am4 will be same socket till 2020 whereas intel puts a new socket on every gen.

I LIKE TURTLES
