I'm thinking of building my first loop and I wonder how the GPU water blocks works size wise. The card I want to use it on is Galax 1080 ti exoc white, a quite huge card with a lot of I/O (which I don't really need)

Looking at Jayztwocents, it looks like the block "turns" the card to a single slot, so, what's going on with the extra IO in the back?

nothing... it will still be a two slot pci-e but in terms of the the gpu block itself, it's one slot.

On most cards (fe) you can use this:

But it looks like your exoc white card doesn't have the 3 screw holes needed to mount it.

Those screws go into the waterblock, so it should work.

There is no extra I/O, just the DP and HDMI ports. All that you are "losing" is the grated part. So yes with a waterblock your card will be single slot.

The cooler is the only thing what makes it dual slot in the first place.
