Case trends regarding airflow

Hi. Here's something I don't get. Most popular cases these days are quite minimalistic, like the S340, define R5, or even the enthoo evolv series, when compared to older cases. This is one of the few trends that I like a lot, because I generally dislike over-the-top gamery stuff. But retaining some kind of functionality, airflow in this case, is also nice. So why do so few airflow-oriented cases seem to follow this minimalistic trend? Apart from the meshify C and core g21, as well as a few mastercases and masterboxes, they mostly have weird shapes with cutouts at the front, like the spec-04, RL06, or even the -admittedly older- enthoo pro M. I actually decided to submit this topic after I saw Enermax's "new" case, the Saberay.

To me, it looks like and older design with some RGB LEDs and tempered glass strapped onto it so that it looks somewhat modern. Why is it so hard to design something minimalistic that also allows some air to enter and exit the chassis? Why can't manufacturers just replace the solid front panels with equally-sized mesh panels, thus preserving the aesthetic whithout restricting airflow too much?

I'd honestly consider buying something like this to house a future build. I guess I'll have to try and build it myself, since it doesn't exist. But why?

There are only so many ways to have a plain mesh front. Manufacturers want their cases to stand out instead of being forgotten. 

I think a plain mesh front is a wholly different aesthetic from a solid front panel--I much prefer the look of the solid front.

What's unsatisfactory about the Meshify C? Are you looking for a nearly identical case but slightly different? It seems to fit your criteria.
