Skylanders NFC Reader

Does anyone know how I could use a USB Skylanders portal as an NFC reader for my PC? I really just want it to transfer small files from my phone to my computer. Yes, I know I can use many other methods to do that, but where is the fun in any of those?

I think it would be easier and less headache to use something like the Adafruit NFC Shield. But if you're only transferring small files, why not just grab a USB cable?

Would probably be easier in Linux but you basically need to write your own firmware, however being a game device I would imagine that they won't make it easy for you
