Advice about getting my first PC

I am saving up money to get a new gaming PC. I'm no master but it seems that graphics cards are way to much at the moment. I have seen a prebuilt desktop for 1199 at a retail store that has an intel I7 7700,  Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070, 16gb of ddr4 ram. Also a 256 gb ssd and a 1tb hard drive. Its an HP Omen , is it worth because I have tried on pcpartpicker and amazon to build something identical and all the parts together end up being way more expensive. So is it worth to buy this prebuilt?

No, you could easily get the same thing for less (unless something happened overnight).

The big difference between Partpicker and store stuff, is the quality of the material.

 

In Partpicker you will notice only major brands are there 

 

A random GTX 1080 will cost a lot less, then a Asus GTX 1080

 

 

Do a Tube search on how to build a PC, before you start. This may not be for you.

I have have a friend who will build it for me. I'm hoping I can learn from watching. I just want to know if I can buy the parts close to that of the prebuilt for a similar price. An I7 and a 1070 and all the over parts for a little over a 1000 seems really good but I wasn't sure

Do a Partpicket list  then ask  in a post how good it this list . Post in New Build and Planning . You can link the list page or copy and paste

 

You can make you list same or close to the store stuff. Just keep close to your budget. 

 

Make sure to have 16 g of memory , new games are coming that will make this a minimun in the future
