Massive ping increase when another computer joins network

For a rather long period of time I have been having an increased of ping (2500ms) for 20 seconds when playing games etc (in some games I'm expelled instantly for high ping) . This always occurs when my parents' computers join the network. I'm connected to the router with a lan cable. can someone help me pls

test each one separately, connect something like a laptop directly to the modem and see if it still lags when somebody connects. and test your extender on a different wifi network from a friend or family member.

I have a 2,4ghz extender (sorry it's extender not router, it's Netgear wn3000rp), my connection is a 50mbs and my modem is 2,4ghz/5ghz

thanks for welcoming

Seems like a signal issue to me. Low signal, more packet loss, means devices have to wait their turn longer (ping). Try moving the extender closer to the main router and see how it works.
