offsite active directory

I'll start this by saying I'm pretty new at setting up active directory workplaces. My company has an active directory server onsite. We've recently opened a physical store across the city from us. I'm trying to set up the store to connect with our active directory server for for validation. I'm assuming there's a straightforward way to do this, but I don't know what it is. I've been searching around but haven't found a straightforward answer to this. I'm hoping this might be a good place to ask.

Site to site VPN is your easiest bet. I've also moved this to the server section as there are more people there who deal in that space.

A permanent site-to-site VPN tunnel would be the most elegant solution. To keep things secure, let this be handled by a (hardware) firewall on both locations with appropriate filtering setup, preferably not with just username password for instance but also with IP-address whitelisting.

I'm using Cisco VPN via a Cisco ASA 5505 to connect my VPS Server to my on-premise network. I'd like to help, I just need more information regarding your setup and how it's connected at the moment.

Site to Site VPN with hardware firewall on both ends is probably going to be the best solution. Also Azure Active Directory is a nice tie-in for Windows Server AD if your company uses things like Salesforce, Office 365, Dropbox, etc. I've deployed it in our test lab environment and I think it's something I'm going to deploy next fiscal year since I plan on integrating in other Azure services as well.
