Gpu freezing

Hello everybody I am a pc gamer like most of you are but I am having trouble I tried  to contact NVidia about it but they did not help,

my gpu usage will freeze often and its making my games very unplayable I don't know what the problem is and my cpu is at 100% usage most of the time but it wasn't like that before I need some help.

What games are you trying to play ?

games that my pc can run although gta 5 is an exception

call of duty waw modern warfare 

ect

I mean my pc can run gta 5 cause its very well implemented

at 20 to 30 dipping under 20 sometimes lol

I would suggest you check the W of the 550ti and the other parts.. it could be the PSU is getting on its last legs and not delivering enough W to the system anymore, Also something i thought of when typing this answer... have you tried using 1 stick of ram at a time... sometimes when a ram stick is getting faulty it can freeze up your system for a while and then "release" it when the faulty stick isnt being used ergo not using more ram than the healthy stick has etc... 

Go thru the normal checklist and test your system, 

1 stick of ram at a time 
test with a different psu
Check that gpu is proberly seated in the pci-e slot etc 

If nothing changes uninstall all non essential software for instance stuff like candycrush and do a full reinstall of the motherboard drivers + gpu drivers 

If that still doesnt help, you might want to contemplate a full wipe of your disk and fresh windows installation .. very annoying yes but sometimes there are "crappy" bloatfiles floating around after uninstalling programs/games etc ... even old gpu drivers hanging around... 

Before wiping your OS though... try using a different SSD/HDD to install it on to be on the safe side to not delete all your current windows stuff.. like documents etc ,)
