How bad are these super cheap tablets, such as this ebay listing. The tablet is only going to be used in car, spotify and navigating. Is it so bad that it wont handle these tasks?

Do you have any other cheap tablets to recommend in such use case scenario, and do you rather recommend to buy some used samsung/huawei/etc. tablet?

For something of that price it is going to be crap. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

You're better off looking at a used tablet from a known brand. I bought a used Lenovo tablet a while back that had some minor damage to the housing and a missing cover for the charging port for less than half the price it would cost new.

If you're not fussed about some minor wear, have a look for refurb and used ones on eBay. If you're okay with some scratching to the display, you can get them really cheap and they still work fine, just most people don't want a device with scratches on the display, so they can go cheap.

The Amazon Fire occasionally dips to $30. That's as low as I'd go. Lots of those $30-40 tablets (and anything cheaper, I'm sure) have ancient or random operating systems full of security holes, display resolutions as low as 800 pixels wide, SoCs that are barely able to power the thing on, let alone keep up with streaming and navigating at the same time, and batteries good for 45 minutes or your money back.

If you're looking for something dirt cheap for the kids to trash, or if you happen upon one of those once-in-a-forever sales at Fry's where a $40 tablet comes with a year of Office 365, it's a good idea. If you need anything more than a tablet that you fully intend to either destroy or get the Office activation from then resell, you're better off looking elsewhere.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

The usage will be only in car, so the device doesn't even need to have a battery. But you are making fair points, this is mostly why I am more comfortable in buying an used branded tablet (even though the old android OS will have security holes).

The problem here is that Finnish people think their old devices are worth something, when new Huawei tablets cost around 50€ at minimum.

I mean there's a guy selling "Samsung tab ce0168", because it says CE0168 in the back  (Link)

HA! We should be so lucky as to get a model number here! You have no idea how many people will list a "Toshiba laptop" for sale that has the typical Toshiba 2005-2010 appearance, ask $100 for it then tell you that, "It's a Toshiba," when you ask what model it is.
