Hi people,

after getting into cryptocurrency, I downloaded Claymore's Dual ETH GPU Miner and set up the various needed things to mine bitcoin (Wallet, address, etc.). Yet the program keeps on spewing out the same errors over again. I am running a GTX1050 2GB Card with an FX8320) CPU.

On Ethereum mining, your video card loads the complete DAG file into your graphics card's VRAM. For this reason as the DAG file grows larger, it takes up more space, and nowadays it's actually impossible to mine with 2GB cards anymore.

However add these lines to the mine.bat at the top and see if that'll let you mine for a bit more.

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

If these are already there on the bat, then I'm afraid the DAG file is too large for 2GB cards now. You can use your 1050 to mine other currency however, I hear zcash is most profitable on Pascal GPUs.

Windows 10 has a lots of problems with the claymore miner that seem to disappear and reappear with every update.

Mining on Windows 10, my fix was to disable the Update Service :P

And if insist on running windows 10, then enable DSR in the nvidia control panel and use the 2x setting (you can fiddle around to see which one, if any, works best.) and don't sue the new Fall Creators update for best performance.

Why is this? I'm on an AMD and incidentally I run Virtual Super Resolution, but does it really affect your mining performance?
