Would a clean Windows install on my Predator Helios 300 would remove my genuine windows activation?

Note no product key was prvided, I'm assuming the key to be in BIOS and will automatically activate windows.

ISO is from official Microsoft website.

It will just work OOB, as soon as the laptop connects to the internet it will auto activate, it wont even ask you to do anything.

There's usually a sticker with the windows key on the laptop somewhere, maybe underneath? If not there are ways of getting the key through windows.

Some of these may help:

Note, that my previous windows was insider preview and crashed.

But also, I was using online Microsoft account.

Since Windows 8 and UEFI there's no need for the user to have the key though they did keep sticking keys onto machines until 10. Keys are injected into the UEFI and are automatically retrieved by Windows during install then activation is handled by Windows in the background.

Since 10 keys are no longer provided nor are they needed, you won't be asked to provide one during install.

That is if your system is OEM of course, retail is still the same as it always was.

I can't see why that would make a difference because surely it still needs a windows key? Might be worth a try just in case it doesn't work out?

ahh yes I see maybe I'm over cautious but I think I would want the key just in case. Things with tech never goes to plan with me xD

Just to be sure, it'll activate by itself after installation. Right?

Yes.

Windows Insider requires you to be logged into an MS account that's signed up for the insider program, no key is needed or given. Insiders can effectively run 10 for free forever.

Btw, I'm on Legacy mode to install, as UEFI isn't detecting the PD, is it all okay?

Thats a good question and one i dont actually know the answer to. I see no reason why it should make a difference but to be 100% sure hit google and search for uefi injected key retrieval, theres a PowerShell script that will tell you your key. Note it down then if anything goes wrong you know you can always do it manually.

My pendrive, with the setup

Sorry for the delay, my brother turned up unannounced.

Its better to fix the pen drive issue and boot in UEFI mode than convert the drive back to MBR mode.

1) Format the USB drive to FAT32, if it's bigger than 8gb use EASEUS Partition Master to do it.

2) Download a Windows 10 ISO using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool

3) Extract the ISO contents

4) Copy EVERYTHING you extracted (all files and folders) to the USB drive

5) Reenable UEFI boot mode

6) Boot from the drive

7) Install as normal

That should work.
