How can I use google home app on my phone to use my smart tv?

Hi,

 

Just been exploring using google home assistant to control my smart TV with voice commands. Sadly I cant  seem to get it to link with my phones google assistant.

 

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S7 with a Sony Android Smart TV.

 

Any help or guides on this would be great.
