So the main complaint is that Linus used Nvidia cards over the much superior AMD Vega cards for mining.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the reason they used Nvidia simply because they don't have the required AMD Vega GPUs(8 of them) to even do anything useful with it?

And how they just seems to have an abundance of Nvidia cards because Nvidia ships them plenty of them for review while AMD doesn't so they have to go out and buy the cards themselves unless they manage to get a sponsor to buy them?

That, and the fact that getting more then 4 Vega cards to work together is more of a bloody pain then it should be.

The problem is that the entire premise of Linus' video is exploring the profitability of the rig, and he uses the (suboptimal) hardware when calculating that.

It's like making a video called "is AMD good for gaming?" then testing an RX 550 and going "nope, it's not".

He says he respects LMG but I dont think he really gets what their full intention is with some the content.

What would you say Linus' intention is?

I think it's to be entertainment, but the problem is that they do not present their videos as being purely entertainment. They present it as if it's educational, and once you do that I think you open yourself up to be scrutinized for providing incorrect information.

If people think your content is a good source for information (which a lot of LTT viewers do) then you can't just slap together videos with incorrect information. You have to make sure that you are actually providing good and informative content, because otherwise you are actually harming your viewers by providing them with misinformation.
