Hexadecimal is just a counting system with a base of 16 in decimal. Just like decimal counts 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11...20-21...30-31...and so on, hexadecimal counts 0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-A-B-C-D-E-F. 2GB in hex is 1024*1024*1024 = 1,073,741,824 that is how many bytes are in 1GB. Times 2 = 2,147,483,648. That is 2GB in decimal. Converted to hex is 80000000, usually written as 0x8000000 in Windows.
