I know many people have the same problem but I can't find a solution. I put my pc to sleep and when I wake it up it keeps powering up and then shutting down. The only way to get it out of this is to unplug the power from the wall and plug it back in then when I boot it back up it shows me a window that windows didn't resume from hibernation correctly... how do I fix it?

Make sure you have the latest drivers for everything, including motherboard, Ethernet/Wireless and SATA controller.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS.

If the above doesn't help, then it's best to disable Hybrid-Sleep feature in Windows 7/8.

This feature is when you put your computer to sleep, after a while, it puts the computer to hibernation. This is great for laptops.

Basically what is happening in your case, is that you put your computer to sleep.. then after a while, Windows goes: "Time to hibernate!, let me power up the system in a very low power state (no image on the screen, graphic card won't wake up, etc..) and put the computer to hibernate". Well what happens is that it executes the call to wake up the computer to this low power state.. but the system doesn't do it.... so Windows goes "Hang on.. it's probably powering up", OR the motherboard tells Windows "Yup.. please wait...", and it waits indefinitely. When you actually move the mouse or wtv to wake up the computer. Windows gets the "OK! Hibernation time! As the system is ready!", and now the motherboard, and Windows are both confused on the current state of the system and you have what you are experiencing.

So to disable this feature:

Open the Power Options panel from the Control Panel, alternatively you can search for Power on Windows search to get there. On the currently used power plan, click on Change plan settings, then select Change advanced power settings. On the panel that will show, expand Sleep from the tree list item. You'll Find: Allow hybrid sleep. Set it to Off.

Click on OK. Your problem should be solved.
