Having a big of an issue today, playing PUBG and GPU usage and FPS is good. Out of nowhere, the FPS drops to 10 FPS and usage goes from being high to being at 20% and that also means the GPU temp also drops which indicates that the usage percentage is correct. Is this a known issue to anyone? I'm using the XFX RX 480 with 8GB of VRAM.

I'm having the same problem. I have a GTX 1070, and performance drops randomly in different games. GPU usage goes down to under 40 percent and the GPU clock doesn't boost to full speed anymore, but it's not caused by thermals. This has happened in H1Z1 and Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag. Restarting the games seems to fix the issue for the moment, but it keeps coming back randomly.

I am using the latest drivers from Nvidia, and by the fact that you have a AMD GPU this seems to be a problem with the latest Windows 10 updates, possibly the patches for Meltdown and Spectre?

I was thinking it could be the new Windows 10 updates, right now I've uninstalled MSI Afterburner and went all AMD Software and it seems to have fixed my issue so far. It's sucks when the GPU doesnt act like it should. I had to restart my PC fully to get the full performance again, so you're lucky that you only have to restart the game.

Uninstalled latest win10 updates, fixed it. I don't install them often anyway but I think its the same ones for the intel bug.

Pubg ran like crap, uninstalled a few updates and it runs like normal.
