Computing power needed for SteamOS

Hey Forum

 

 

So i was wondering: Will i be able to take my old laptop (I3 330m 5650 1gb 4gb Ram) install SteamOS in dualboot with W8.1, and use it as a SteamOS machine that can stream my Steam games from my gaming pc (GTX780 DCII, 4670K 8Gb ram)?

 

Would a steam controller be necessary or could i use a xbox 360 controller for pc?

Good enough to run Steam OS because it is a tweaked and modified version of linux and linux is not very resource intensive.so yeah!

FX 6300 @ 4.2 Gigahurtz 1.325V ,  ASRock 970 Extreme 4 mobo  ,  Kingston Hyperx Blu 2X4GB @1600Mhz  , Asus GTX 960 DCU ii Black OC  , Hyper 212 Evo , Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB , WD 1 TB caviar Green , Xonar DG sound card , Seasonic M12ii Evo 620W PSU , Corsair 200R case ,4 random case fans.

My Nokia N95 would not struggle with Steam OS, it can handle Quake III and Quake II PC versions at full settings.

The FAQ hardware requirements state it needs UEFI, which may restrict older hardware, I'm hoping any BIOS will do.

GamingPC: Intel 4770k CPU, 2xMSI 780 GTX Twin Frozr, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro, Swiftech H220 CPU Cooler.
