Anyone have experience with the Adaptec 6805E?

wpirobotbuilder

As far as ease of use, stability, operating temperature, etc. I'm interested in it because of its PCI-E 4x usage.

Other suggestions would be good too. Requirements are:

  • 8 or more ports (SATA)
  • PCI-E 4x
  • Relatively inexpensive (under $300)
  • RAID 10 support

Much appreciated!

Other than having it in a system that is still not built, nothing more than what you have posted. Testing to be done are a 8 SATA drive RAID 0 and then most likely a production RAID 10 setup of some type, but its on the ToDo list and not the active tasks projects.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

Forgot, it was bought because it is supposed to have a better management software under Linux, still needs to be tested. The LSI cards being used before had minimal cli under Linux which is why we need to find a better one to manage the Array's but with the way software RAID is going, that maybe a moot point sooner than later.
