Nvidia Shadowplay doesn't record audio (Windows 7)

I've been having a lot of trouble trying to get Nvidia Shadowplay to record audio from my headset. It records microphone audio just fine, but won't record in-game or desktop audio unless the only audio device I have enabled is my monitor's built in speakers. I've tried plugging my headset's headphone jack into the monitor, but it still doesn't record audio (on top of that, I hear hissing from my headphones when plugged into the monitor, but i won't be doing that if i don't have to). I've tried a multitude of different "default audio device" combinations, and the only one that works is disable all audio devices except for the monitor. Does anyone else have this same issue? Has anyone been able to fix this issue? Do you have any ideas what i can try to fix this? I wish to play audio through my headphones and record from the headphones, but Shadowplay doesn't let you specify the audio path/device to record from which is infuriating me.

 

Monitor: Acer Predator XB252Q (Displayport)

Headphones: Steelseries dual 3.5mm jack, separate microphone and headphone jacks

 

OS: Windows 7

Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Hero IX Z270

CPU: Intel I7 7700K (stock clock speeds) LGA 1151 socket

GPU: Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming GTX 1070

RAM: G.skill TridentZ 16GB DDR4 3600mhz

SSD: PNY 128GB SATA III (Boot drive)

HDD: Seagate Ironwolf 10TB 7200RPM (Shadowplay's recording directory)

 

Built-in audio is Realtek HD Audio Manager

Can you take a screenshot of your Playback devices window

Right Click on the Speaker icon in the taskbar > Playback Devices

everything above the bottom 3 are unplugged or disabled, due to being different devices eg: different monitor, and stereo system for that monitor
