Twitter Changes Block Policy

Didn't see this posted up yet, but I figured it might be a good warning to anyone who actively uses Twitter.

 

Apparently Twitter changed its Blocking policy. Basically now, Blocking does nothing to prevent harassers and trolls from following you and interacting with your Tweets anymore. All it does is prevent their Tweets from appearing on your page. In short, Blocking someone is now the equivalent of plugging your ears with your fingers and going "LALALALALALALA", meanwhile they're still free to say and do whatever they please to you.

UPDATE: Twitter just released a statement saying the original block functionality has been restored. It's good that they realized their mistake and were willing to fix it (I'm looking at you, YouTube), but still scary that they ever thought something like this was a good idea.

god this is bad... first all the people I blocked on original YouTube comments were rendered useless because they got G+ and now this... they just don't want us to have control of the flow, do they?
