Hey guys so recently i moved to a different ISP and ive been trying to port forward for metasploit and ssh into my home network but for some reason it just does not work what so ever ive even asked them to do it and i can see the new rule but nothing so yesterday i asked if i can change my router to something better quality as the router could be the problem its a mikrotik router but they claim that with there network only the mikrotik can be used PLEASE HELP I need a solution thanks Travis

Does your ISP allow the port being open on your modem? For example, my ISP won't allow me to use port 25 for example.

 

Have you tryed different ports?

Have you checked if the port is open by using different servers? (maybe just get a simple webserver, change the port in settings and check if it will spit out a test page)

 

And for the final part: some ISP's only allow their own supported modems to work on their network. It's something you might have to deal with.

First step is see if they have a blocked port list. My ISP Comcast has several ports they just up and block. Also, does your ISP allow you to use your own modem? If so, it might be wise just to buy a modem and tell them to fuck off. You will also need a router as well. Ive found most ISP supplied stuff it just shit. My friend has a Comcast supplied modem/router and much like you he was having issues getting port forwarding to work. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
