Hello:)

Recently I was at my desk drinking a glass of coca cola then I went to type on my keyboard then I split my coke. That keyboard now doesn't seem to work properly, which is no surprise. I may be able to fix it but probably not. That keyboard is a Gigabyte K8100.

Now, I'm using my first keyboard! It is about 6-7 years old and it is not very pleasant to type on.

So, I'm now looking for a mechanical keyboard, because apparently they're good.

So, because I am incredibly OCD, I'd like to have a Corsair keyboard to match my Corsair mouse, and I've found the Corsair K70, which looks pretty badass.

So I saw how much it is in dollars, which is $129 - $149 depending on the layout. I pop that into google and that is £90, well, it should be.

I then went onto Amazon and it is £120.

Am I being stupid? Should it be that price for the keyboard?

Anyway, I'm here to ask a question, What is the best value for money mechanical keyboard on the market right now?

I'd quite like a small form-factor keyboard, one without the numbers pad because i don't use it, but it would have to have LED backlights.

My budget is between £70 and £100.

Thanks :)

Jem

Anything from a tenkeyless from either CM Storm range maybe? Filco?

Greens are rare, I have one its quite nice although maybe I should've bought blues instead.

Reds are linear and aren't for me but are for gamers :3

Blues are commonly known as the best sorta tactile keyswitch other than maybe greens which are way heavier

Browns feel to mushy to me like membrane :(

If you have time read a bit or skim over the keyswitch types you maybe interested in.

The type of switch you like is completely personal preference. I like Blues my self but the corsiar K70 is a great keyboard. I don't know much about exchange rates and stuff but I would go with the retailer you trust the most and the cheapest price

Hope I could help!

If jem.graham lives in the UK which I don't know...Ducky mechanical keyboards are quite expensive from certain online retailers. Although since I just searched on Google just now the lowest was around £70..... full keyboard with keypad.

The Quickfire Ultimate from CM Storm looks very nice, but some guys were saying the K70 is really good.

Do you think it's work saving for the K70? or just settling for something that I can afford?

Check around if you live near by a PC world store/Currys they might have a mechanical keyboard but only one keyswitch type. K70 has a very nice wrist rest, backlight and good option for switches. Unless you want also maybe an RGB version exclusive between corsair and cherry which allows multi-coloured backlights then wait.

Yeah I do, might have to go up there this weekend:)

I found this Ducky Zero Shine DK2108S which looks cool.

There you have it, Ducky DK2108S Zero Shine is a great keyboard, although it lacks the lighting effects of the Shine series and perhaps some minor features, it is well made and it's a Ducky, you can't go wrong IF the price is reasonable.
