which one?

Alphabet

ive made a couple of post about this and i just dont want to be let down and see no improvement. should i get this : https://gyazo.com/69be1e9b144dadfb9379f1a3d7cf556c or should i get this : https://gyazo.com/4021a9a03a247092c5d910c26e6fa92b ? i dont know what to do because if i get the i5 and the lga1151 socket i can upgrade to i7 in the future but if i get the ryzen theres not really much cpus that fit am4. all i really do is game and i might want to stream here and there, games like csgo, h1z1, and fortnite and have a consistent 200-250 fps. what should i do? i have roughly $300 budget.

No one should buy Kaby Lake anymore, the R5 1600 > i5s IMO, you'd want an i5 8400 if you wanted intel right now

Don't buy that MSI board, get the ASrock Pro 4 or ASUS PRIME X370 PRO if it's under $150

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

whats wrong with the board i picked? i was getting it beacuase i have the nzxt h440 white and i was color scheming. u would 100% get the r5 and it will outperform the i5s? i mean ive done a lil bit of research but just want second opininons just to be safe

That case doesn't have a mesh front intake, should look at the Masterbox 5 black or Silverstone RL06

MSI's AM4 boards are weak, haven't heard many good things

If you're going to be doing streaming the extra multi-threaded performance of the r5 chip should be better than a bit more per thread performance, and the AM4 platform should last a while, should invest in the PRIME X370 PRO over a cheaper motherboard

That's probably all the ryzen refresh is, if we're lucky the average OC will be 4.5ghz and memory support will be improved

Ryzen 2 may not be announced until late next year

The Ryzen 5 1600 should hold its weight for at least 2-3 years, I'd hope.  Otherwise, I'd be a fool for buying one.  I don't see it becoming obsolete faster than any other platform.

You are totally going to be overclocking ryzen because it's really easy to hit 3800mhz for free performance, just don't go past 1.35V

mesh is so you don't cook your hardware and run it 10C hotter than it needs to be

Here's the RL06 pro with 3 120mm fans for intake

Did some searching, and the next gen Ryzen chips will work in AM4 without upgrading your board.. Just BIOS updates.  That's something that Intel RARELY does.

Naturally, Prior can’t really comment on unannounced products. But he did reiterate a comment publicly announced by AMD that it will support the AM4 motherboard socket through 2020. He also talked about the “Zen” processor development, which started four years ago and eventually required two teams

Well it's impossible to fit an Ryzen 5 1600 in a $300 budget so that's why I put the Ryzen 5 1400 so he'd at least have smt

You have the money to do it quite easily, and you can even OC on the stock cooler a bit, the RL06 is cheaper at newegg and a Hyper T4 is $20

Ryzen 5 1600 > i5 8400 in my book, you shouldn't consider Kaby lake at all anymore

Going by that list buy the CPU and cooler at amazon, and buy the rest at newegg and save money, possibly spending more on your motherboard for the ASUS PRIME X370 PRO

Newegg has free/cheap shipping generally and is pretty fast in any event.
