GTX 970 SLI not working

So I just bought a second evga GTX 970 SSC to SLI with my other one but after installing everything the option to enable SLI in the nvidia control panel is greyed out and it says to connect a SLI bridge to maximize performance. Both cards are being detected and I have updated to the latest drivers. GPU-Z also says they are both on PCI-E x8 slots so I don't think thats an issue. I also made sure when I got my mobo that I got one to support SLI.

 

Specs:

I5-6600k*

Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI mobo

2x evga GTX 970 SSC

Do you have an SLI bridge on them?

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

Yea a while ago I got an asus SLI bridge off amazon that I have on it now

Reseat the bridge on both ends, and if it doesn't work try the other SLI connectors on the cards.

Tried doing that, nothing happened, it's still greyed out in the control panel

You probably need to connect both connectors.
