Mouse feeling accelerated after last windows update

Hi there :)

Well the thing goes like this:

Since few days ago I had the option to "restart and update or shut down and update". And when yesterday I finally did it (took a while btw, like more than 25 minutes) the computer restarts and my  mouse feels totally wrong.

I'm very sensitive with my mouse speed and tracking. I use to have it set on 2.800 DPI making changes on 200+/- dpi depending on the game... and now after this update I needed to put it down to 1.800 to be able to manage to click to close windows. But still not good, something is clearly wrong.

Yes I have unchecked the "mouse acceleration" box both in windows control panel and in my software for Logitech (I have the Logitech 502) which I also reinstalled.

What the heck is going on? What I know now is that I can't play anything competitive anymore, the mouse tracking is completely fucked off.

Thanks for the help ^^

Yeah, I just installed Windows 10 on my Mac with bootcamp not to long ago and the way the mouse feels is just off. It could be partly that the trackpad does not get "Windows precision drivers" but it makes the trackpad feel way worse.

Also there is no option to invert scrolling or really chance much.

Kinda feels like MS is breaking more than they are fixing at least with this department.

Very true, and its not fair to be forced updates without even a list with what is going to be update.

For security updates i am agree its needed but they force many other things and you have to discover that after reboot>:(

took me a day to get it back the most i was used to, xbox and other crap..

you have to dig in the registry deep.

I dont know about the mouse but you might got a updated driver what is mot working well with other stuff you have.

maybe you can force some of the latest updates to return.

Maybe something got messed up during the update? I'd try to restore windows or completely reinstall it and hope it solves the issue.

I've even change the windows registry which showed I had some kinda acceleration even when the box was unchecked.... lol? xD

But what is not normal  is that I neede to down my DPI 1.000 points to feel "kinda" the same as before the update... Dont know what the heck is going on and thats whats piss me off the most.

You could try to reset your mouse and then set things up again in the app.

Not sure how you can reset the G502 so, you will have to ask support about that but, on my mouse, it's left and right click and scroll wheel at the same time when the mouse is unplugged.

EDIT: I found a video that might help you: HERE

Here's the website from the video: Link

Also, here's a note from the website:

NOTE: ALL registry based mouse fixes, INCLUDING this one, ONLY work when the
Control Panel > Mouse > 'Enhance pointer precision' option is ON (OR when an older game forces 'Enhance pointer precision' to ON), AND your game does not use DirectInput and does not use Raw Input for mouse input.

Hi Cyberspirit! :)

I've founded this link myself before and... didn't quite felt comfortable with it or felt like did any change. Though after some days of feeling still over frustrated with the thing decided to revisit the post and download the "regedit" config. again and guess what. Now it works like a charm! And as said in the readme mouse acceleration must be ON for it in order to work properly.

I guess when I tried first day I was too obsessed with the idea that windows changed something I couldn't fix xD

And now after some days living with the "new" windows (fucked up) feeling and try this I felt it at first touch how it was perfect 1:1 mouse tracking :) Back to normal.

So thanks a lot for the research and dedicated answer. Deserved even if it didn't solve the problem. Didn't answer first day just because of how mad with everything I was xD

And attach the prove that everything is back to normal (176 is not like crazy high but for the first try of the morning looks promising xD) 2017-12-30.thumb.png.15dcf1e0b7a725ab979c034da3e66d50.png
