I was one of those who had claimed that the 'White' on the DS3 Yellow Edition were Clears, but have since been proven wrong as they are actually White/Milk.

That's what I would do. A friend recently bought a used keyboard in ebay, we took it apart to clean it and replaced the keycaps cause they felt greasy.

You can search for "cherry mx keycaps" in ebay and get lots of options to choose from.

they're at $31 right now, they're usually $40 or so, all the more reason to check them out.

One of the shift keys as well as the spacebar might present a problem. I'd gotten colored "Shift' keys and one of them did not fit the slot, and the only spacebar that I've heard fit it is Keycool's. It actually looks pretty good on its own w/o anything needing replacement. The key caps are better than the usual being PBT with gold printed legends. I have one myself....the modifiers were from Leopold too btw.

This was after I'd swapped out some modifiers, do not that I did not use the 'Shift' keys as I could not get one to fit, pictured together with a HHKB 2 for size comparison..
