I just recently purchased this vandal switch

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EUY612C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It did not come with any instruction on how to install it. I have looked online for similar switches and videos on how to actually install it on your mother board.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

So how would I install it to be used as a power switch for my computer? I am doing a custom in-desk pc build and need to power it on some how.

Drill the corresponding sized hole in the desk but slightly smaller then screw it in with the threads

This is a latching switch, you need a momentary switch for a PC power button.

Is this due to the switch being in a "locked down position" and continuously triggering the power? Excuse my ignorance here, I am just trying to figure this out so I can get this set up the right way.

Yes that's what a latching switch is. If you press it in, it makes and holds the circuit until you press it again. A momentary switch only makes the circuit while you're holding the switch in. It does say that this switch will act as a momentary switch if you don't press is all the way, but what happens  when you DO press it all the way? It will probably cause you're computer to turn on and then immediately turn off.

1. It's Latching Switch, you want Momentary Switch(Link: https://www.amazon.com/Switch-Vandal-Resistant-Illuminated-Momentary-Housing/dp/B0039OCO9O/ref=sr_1_6?m=A3GO5VFCNOM5I7&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1514134764&sr=1-6&keywords=switch)

2. You usually have six pins (8 pins if it's RGB Switch). Pin one and Two are usually set to Normally Closed and Three and four are set to Normally Open. You want to use NO (Normally Open).
