Overclocking causing stutters?

Any reason why when I overclock my CPU and GPU that games stutter? FPS stays the same, but there is occasional stutter/ micro freezing. When I change to stock clock speeds everything is perfectly fine.

This only occurs when GPU and CPU are overclocked at the same time?

The overlcock might not be perfectly stable, micro stuttering or stuttering graphics/audio often occurs before a hard lock up when you need to either add a little more voltage or to dial back the clockspeeds.

Some games run crap when fps is above refresh rate, even if it is just slightly.

 

Did you overclock the RAM as well? Does a more conservative overclock help?

I’ll have to do more testing, i havnt overclocked each individually yet. I do notice that without overclocking, my gpu reaches its throttle temperature, so if overclocked it does reach throttle temp, would that translate to stutter?

yes thermal throttling will cause stuttering
