Ryzen or Ryzen Refresh?

So on black Friday i got the CPU Ryzen 1600X for 285 AUD so pretty much a few weeks before the news about the Ryzen refresh was happening. Just wanted to ask apart from some clock speed improvements what would likely be the changes in the refresh? Better memory support? I was originally gonna go for 2x16gb 3200 but decided to back down and go for just the 2x8gb 3200 FlareX for guaranteed compatibility for instance.

Should i resell on ebay or something wait for the refresh or wait it out until Ryzen 2?

God knows when Ryzen 2 (or Ryzen refresh) will come.They say Q1 but you just can't trust them. It might be at the end of March. And when it comes, it might only 5% better than the current Ryzen. Also waiting is boring. So be happy with what you have. It is not as good as Intel for gaming but still very good CPU.

I plan on an upgrade regardless when the time comes. Already got a 1070 for 144hz gaming, i wont mind turning down some GPU settings to obtain that. But i think when i update the CPU i will also up the ram to 32GB as i do want to do other things than just gaming. Just depends if its gonna be the refresh or ryzen 2, and if it is ryzen 2 i might get a new MB as well.. Depends on what they add with it of course.

If you sell your 1600x then you might have to wait until April. Consider this.

Oh i know i havent got all the parts of my build yet, just waiting on some sales before buying the last of em. I haven't used it but im pretty sure im past the take back date so yeah.

expect around 10% perf gain, so for you, you might wanna wait for ryzen 2 before you upgrade, that will have a bigger uplift

performance gain is 5-10% so you really wont benefit much, wait until you really need an upgrade. save money
