Upgrading C Drive

Hey, I want to upgrade my C Drive without losing any data on it, I don't have a RAID or anything like that running. I just want to get all my files onto the new one, without reinstalling windows and my programs/games. how do I do that?

Use a cloning tool. 

Main System:

Anghammarad : Asrock Taichi x570, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @4900 MHz. 32 GB DDR4 3600, some NVME SSDs, Gainward Phoenix RTX 3070TI

There isn't really a great way of doing it. The OS and the programs never really work at their peak efficiency after a clone, unless you are using the EXACT SAME hardware.

Your best bet is to backup your files and documents to a Cloud Service or to a USB drive, take note of the programs installed, then install the new drive.

I use EaseUS Todo Backup for all my data handling needs.

 

I believe it has an option to clone one drive into another. It will clone both the data and the File System, meaning that you'll get a partition the same size as your original drive + the same drive letter. Do keep in mind you need an equal or bigger drive as the host drive to clone into.

I know cloning is a polarizing topic here, but at my old job I cloned 12-15 older Dell Inspirons that had HDDs in them and installed Samsung 850 evos in their place.  Never had a single issue with any of them.  

Samsungs drives come with software that make it very easy.
