BitPay and their big BTC problem...

Just got an email from Bitpay regarding loading funds to the visa card they issue.

and noticed something strange. See if you can spot the oddity...

That's right boys and girls, it will cost you AN ADDITIONAL .002389 BTC to send .001169 BTC from one wallet to another using Bitpay! If this becomes the norm, you might as well kiss BTC goodbye because NO ONE will use it for anything other than extremely high volume.

I don't :P I pay cash for everything I buy unless I have a gift card.

 

I plan on taking up mining at some point in the future, but I'm not there yet

This is more of an issue with the insane fees with BTC in general rather than BitPay. Use LTC if you want quick every day currency. Transfers a lot quicker with nominal fees.

It's not that i want quick everyday money, i just don't want to have to pay an arm and a leg just to get it... i mean when i expect to cash out at the end of the month, if i have $1200 in there i don't expect to pay $200 in fees just to get it.
