Hello everyone,

I'm trying to choose a PSU for my next build. The problem I'm stumbling upon is that I can't find reputable brands of PSU here in Tunisia. Below the other informations you will need to know;

  • I am trying to build a mini-ITX computer.
  • I've just bought a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX.
  • Inside, I have an ASRock MOBO and an AMD x4 860k.
  • Just a random Graphics card for now.
  • An old PSU that was initially in an old Dell Desktop (450W).
  • I'm planning to upgrade the MOBO, CPU and RAM to make a Ryzen Build (in the near future I hope).
  • I'm planning to get a decent graphics card, that's why I'm planning to have a PSU with a PCI-E connector.

My actual problem is that my PSU is way too noisy (due to its age and its quality) and I'm trying to look for a PSU that will be at least more silent and ready for my future build. What's more problematic is brands, here in Tunisia, reputable brands are hard to find. Below you'll find the PSUs list I've found (websites in French):

  • QMax 600W Modular : Certified 80 PLUS Bronze. ATX/EPS Format, 120mm Fan, 1x ATX20+4 pins connector, 1x +12V (x2 P4), 4x PCI-E +2, x4 SATA, 3 Molex.
  • Corsair VS550 : 80 PLUS ? ATX/EPS Format, 120mm Fan, 1x ATX20+4 pins connector, 1x +12V (x2 P4), 4x PCI-E +2, x4 SATA, 3 Molex.
  • Sharkoon 650W : ATX Format, 120mm Fan, 1x ATX20+4 pins connector, 1x +12V (x2 P4), 4x PCI-E +2, x4 SATA, 3 Molex.
  • Everest Rampage 600W (BTX-600-2) : Certified 80 PLUS Bronze. ATX Format, 120mm Fan, 1x ATX20+4 pins connector, 1x +12V (x2 P4), 4x PCI-E +2, x6 SATA, 2 Molex.

When I've looked up these 4, I told myself that the best bet is to stick to the Corsair PSU, yet the Sharkoon seems really queit judging from the specifications. The everest also seems interesting with the Bronze Certification also like the QMax, yet I've never heard of these brands.

I hope I've detailed everything, let me know if I'm missing something.

Thank you in advance for the help!

If the Evolve only uses SFX PSUs then these aren't helpful as they won't fit. SFX is really expensive right now, I'd rather shoot for Micro ATX instead.

Oh no it has enough room for ATX PSUs, that's why I've chosen this particular case.

@tarkan_ The build you're describing would run just fine with that Corsair 550w PSU. The only that I think would affect you would be an insane GPU installation.

I'm not thinking of something more than a 1050 Ti or a 1060 if my budget allows me. The Corsair seems more revelant than the other for sure, my only concern is if it's really a good PSU because I've seen reputable brands making really bad products sometimes.

Nah, the VS is still a crap PSU, not a lot better than the other options. If a 1060 is out of reach then I'd recommend a used GTX 970. You'd also probably be able to afford a CX450M with the money saved as well.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Nope, just uses standard old ATX PSUs.
