Ramdisk Software

Go to solution Solved by Vitalius,

Well I knew that I want to know stuff like what's out there and what's the best way to use it and stuff like that.

Well, there are 2 programs I know of. ASRock gives you it for free if you buy certain versions of their motherboards. AMD has some that is free for up to 4GB RAMDisks but you have to pay for bigger (unlimited) ones.

I would use it for games, recording short segments of video in HQ HD (1080p), any of the editing software that benefit from such things, etc.

It's kind of a niche thing. It was far more popular back in the day when SSD's weren't popular or prevalent. That's basically what SSDs are. RAM, but for storage.

So I was watching NCIX's latest vid as of December 11, 2013. and I would like to know, well I guess everything I need to know about Ramdisk software. Weather or not it's for me, the pro's and con's, whats a good software and why and how to use it etc.

I'd really like your guy's help! If there is a post that has all this info then please direct me to it.

Thanks!

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Ramdisk lets you take a portion of your RAM and use it basically as a stupid fast mini drive. Stupid fast. Like 18923749817264098237650723 times an SSD fast. Fast.
