My current system: x58 evga sli3, x5650@4.35ghz(degrading), 24gb of random ddr3 4gb sticks, noctua nhd14

I kinda want higher singlecore and with my x5650 degrading, although i know i could just get another one for like 20$, i feel like its finally time to leave the x58 masterrace. (I love multicore performance and i love my cores. But singlecore is what i need, i also do not need to buy ddr4, a friend will trade ddr4 and ddr3 with me.)

z77 + i7 2600k ~180

x79 + 3930k ~220

am4 + r5 1400, maybe r5 1600 ~200-250

x99 + 2660 v3 ~300 (i would consider the 5820k, but when they are the same price, i could just get the 3930k for the same performance.)

Or suggest something sub 300 (its my budget, but i want to spend less than)

R5 (1600 is the best for multicore obviously), because it's the newest platform, or you can do the x99 platform upgrade, but don't recommend going back a generation no matter the case.

X58 is pretty old, in no case would i be going back a gen. Mainly right now its is the 2660 v3 singlecore high enough
