need help

first time building comp i have my ram plugged in my cpu and stock fan plugged in to my mobo.

 

when i try to turn it on it goes for a good 2 seconds then shuts off completely. whats wrong?

and yes i have the 20 pin in and the 8 pin in

Try connecting a monitor. What does the code on the debug display tell you when the PC turns off?

So there isn't even a error code on the debug display in the top right corner of the motherboard?

 

If you have the PC assembled in a case try pulling it out, and asseble it on a non-conductive surface. Something might be shorting out the motherboard

i havnt even put it in the case yet for fear of this happening its still on my mobo box and when i hooked up the dvi cable from my mobo to my monitor the screen says DVI no signal and just stays black
