Hi guys, basically my current system is a pretty solid one for eSports titles but my GPU is starting to lack a bit so I decided to upgrade to a 1070, problem is that I feel like my performance has dipped a bit, and I've been reading through the forums, and people are basically saying that the 6600k is sort of bottlenecking the 1070? Would it be smart of me to upgrade to a 8600k or a 7700k which seem to be the perfect fit for a 1070? If I'm planning to upgrade to get the maximum performance out of my 1070 I'm probably gonna sell my current parts to a friend for half the prize, so in the end I'm not really paying that much if I were to upgrade, would it be smart or what?

- Current system:
PSU: CM B600 v2
Mobo: MSI Z170-A Pro
CPU: i5-6600k
GPU: ASUS Strix 970 4GB
RAM: Kingston value ram 2400mhz 8GB

- New build:
PSU: Not sure
Mobo: MSI Z370-A Pro
CPU: i5-8600k
GPU: ASUS GTX 1070 8GB
RAM: CV DDR4 3000mhz 16GB

I personally wouldn't jump to anything above 4 cores/4-8 threads until I actually need more CPU power. Even a 6700K should be fine for your build, though.

Yeah theres no bottleneck 6600k/1070, but If you are planning on upgrading anyways, a 8600k won't bottleneck either. It's kinda an upgrade, but with maybe a 10% performance increase.

This is basically what it looks like idle (A lot of chrome tabs open tho)

CPU OC'd at 4,4 1,260v. I honestly dont know what's the issue, but I'm usually playing CS, League, OW at 1080p 144hz and the games feels kinda crappy, a lot of fps, but still feels crappy/not smooth.. (Especially CSGO). Feels like the 1070 performes worse than the 970, Idk if thebottlenecker.com is accurate these days, But it says that the 6600k is cucking my 1070, but when I use the 970 it fits perfectly togheter..

Are you experiencing micro stuttering or frame drops?
If you're not sure install MSI Afterburner and turn on the on-screen display, check your FPS, GPU usage, CPU usage and RAM usage.

Not using display port cable, didnt come with the monitor.. Using DVI-D cable/gsync option not showing in NVIDIA panel.. Usually the games I'm playing (esports titles) tend to be dx9.. Dont really got a video, but here are some screenshots from me standing afk ingame, dont really know if that counts: https://imgur.com/a/qbrqF

1024 (4:3) Feels fine, but 1920 despite having a lot of frames feels really shitty, feels like 100hz even tho it says in the developer console I've got 144hz..
