Roughly matching the Microcenter build (some nicer parts) ends up at ~$1750. So I would pick the Microcenter build, or this thing (which costs a bit more.

Do you think that these parts would be worth getting over the micro center build considering id still have to buy an OS and do all the labor myself of building it (incl the risk of issues)

You could get a cheaper case, if you want to lower the cost a bit.

You can get a Windows key from Reddit or Kinguin for ~$25. 

There's not much to do, and not much to go wrong when you build a PC. 1-3 hours

Since Im playing at 1080p 144hz, would it be overkill to keep the i7/1080ti, or should I replace those in that build you gave me with just a i5 8600k and a GTX1080
