Thanks for all your replies!

Would it be worth changing to a 4770K? I have never overclocked a PC before, I didn't really want to oc anything as I was told that is shortens life span of CPU etc?

Not worth going i7 for gaming. You should oc. Even though adding extra voltage will shorten the cpu's life span, it will likely still last longer than you need it to and setting your own voltage is often lower than the auto that adds more than needed.

If the 1300w power supply is too much can anyone recommend any different high quality power supplies? 750w-850w?

A decent 750w would be plenty.

Are you just shopping from Amazon or are you okay with other UK shops? Budget?

Why a 144 hz display? Also, why a 27" 1080p display? The pixels get quite large at that size.

What kind of videos are you rendering? Programs being used?

You need to quote a post or tag a member or else they won't get a notification you replied to them.

Build looks much overkill btw. You could go much cheaper.

I need the pc to last for about 7 years and be fast for the 7 years. I can shop from any store that ships to the UK, my budget is around £2000 or $3200. I use a few different programs that can use GPU to render so thats the 2 770's. Thanks for the tip about quoting-Im new to forums etc.

Please could you explain how I could go cheaper?

Look back at even a high end pc 7 years ago. It doesn't really matter what you get today as it won't be considered faster anymore even in 4-5 years.

I'll be using Sony vegas 12 Pro, Adobe elements, photoshop and after effects. I like to be on the internet and listen to windows media player at the same time, I plan to run Crysis 3, Far Cry 3 and BF 4 on ultra settings and use a ASUS VG248QE monitor with a DVI (If anyone can help choosing a Dual link DVI?)

I have been looking into the display stuff and have decided to go with a asus vg248qe, I would have the 144Hz because I may buy the Nvidia Vision 2 Kit later in the year, the 1080p display is a must for me as I can tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. The 24"version will fit on my desk better too.

Have you considered getting a nice IPS panel instead?

I was considering the ASUS VG248QE, BenQ xl2420t and the ASUS MX239H and IPS panel. I have used monitors before where I could see ghosting so I thought I'd try to get a monitor with minimal ghosting. I looked at reviews for the ASUS MX239H and saw that it had lots of ghosting? I need a 23-24" panel that will look decent and come below £300 ($490) I do not need speakers, just at least at 1080p display.

What monitors have you used?

I've never really had ghosting problems with an IPS panel before.

I can't, last year I went to a tech event and I looked at some panels and I could see ghosting in the IPS range

If you're sensitive to it, the XL2420TE is basically the only high frequency panel I'd recommend.

I'm not sure if it's available in the UK and I've read it's going under the guise of the XL2420T and which one you get depends on your luck but I think this might be it. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-088-BQ

Yeah I looked for the BenQ XL2420TE but I could not find it on amazon.co.uk or currys etc? If i can get it off http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-088-BQ that would be great, I am very cautious when buying online? I'm guessing overclockers is a good website that I can trust with my banking details?

They are trustworthy. I'm just wondering whether it's really the XL2420TE and not the XL2420T but the rev 2.0 label assures me a bit.

It'd be nice if someone could confirm this though.
