If I fold of my chromebook does that help at all?

At all, yes.  A lot, no.  GPUs are needed for big time folding results, but every little bit helps.  Even the chrome browser folding client contributes.

I mean If I let my Chromebook fold for the entire day does it really help because it only cranks about 1000 points a day.

every little bit will make a difference, that is the very core of distributed computing, at one point they had a smartphone app for folding, it turned my little brick into a handwarmer, lol
