Does anyone "in the know" have any idea if we'll see a drop in prices anytime soon?  After Christmas? After the new year?

I don't mean a few dollars here and there due to sales. I mean a real price drop.

What I am really asking is if I should go ahead and buy the $799 card I want knowing that the price will NOT come down within the foreseeable future (and knowing that a few dollars in sale drop won't really matter).

For me personally if I was going to make such a large investment I would wait for Nvidias next generation of GPUs, although we still don't know exactly when that will be.

Processor: Ryzen 5950x GPU: RTX 3080  Mobo: X570 Aorus Pro RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

FTW3

According to camelcamelcamel, the EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 had a low of $750 earlier in the year. It's a very good card, and with mining not going away anytime soon, I believe you have three options:

1. Buy it now.

2. Wait for a sale to save a few dollars.

3. Wait for next gen GPU to come out and see if it will this GPU's prices.
