does it spin up ? (you can feel it spin up if you touch the harddrive while you are powering up your PC) if so you just need to create a partition

Asus has a disk unlocker for all drives over 2TB. Gigibyte has one for disks over 3TB.

Install "Disk Unlocker" if you have the Crosshair V   Version 2.0.8

https://www.asus.com/us/ROG_ROG/CROSSHAIR_V_FORMULA/#support

And this is for the Crosshair V-Z Version 2.1.3

https://www.asus.com/us/ROG_ROG/CROSSHAIR_V_FORMULAZ/#support

Click on Driver & Tools, Select your OS, Then clock on Utilities.

hard to tell.. i feel a slight vibration but that could come from one of the other harddrives in the case.

Make sure you installed it as Admin then reboot. Drive initialization takes place on boot. If it does recognize the drive you will have to reboot again.

Odd.

Did the drive come with any software? Seagate is odd sometimes and if you are using an SSHDD then Im wondering if it has Seagate specific software.

In your Bios do you have it set to AHCI?

It is detected in the Bios?

EDIT: Yes it does. Discwizard is needed above 2TB. I dont know the exact drive you have so find the latest software on Seagates website for your specific drive.

well it the computer does not detect the hardware.. so creating the partition is not the problem.

Is your partions HDD marked as "Active"? Is the volume assign?

Command Prompt Window

Diskpart

List Disk

Select Disk (Number) HDD

Active

Assign

Do this for all the partitions in your new HDD.  Then type Exit. Reboot computer.

You install the Seagate Discwizard?

the discwizard is saying "to install the product at least one seagate/maxtor device should be installed in your system."
