PCIE slots

Hello

I was looking at some mobos and saw that there are multiple types of PCIE slots. I might want to ad another gpu to my gaming rig for mining, do I need to look what kind of PCIE slot I need?

graphics cards use 16x PCI-e slots: they are the longest ones, usually with a clip on the end

the typical ones use Sata data and Sata power ports, just like any hard drive.
but newer m.2 SSD's use m.2 slots located on the motherboard; though you can use PCI-e extention cards to use them there if your motherboard doesn't have an m.2 slot
