I am working on replacing my consoles with my PC via emulators and such, but right now after research I have found that only certain drives have been able to read Wii disks in order to rip the files to play, but all the ones confirmed that I found are only IDE. So i was wondering if any of you are currently using, or know of any SATA drives that are able to read and therefore allow me to rip my games to play on my PC. I don't want to have any unnecessary cables, or adapters in my PC, nor do I want to download the games because either they are virus filled, or they are torrents. I don't want to do torrents because they upload some data, but after a while that data gets larger, and I have a limit on upload data per month without losing my computer account (I live in a college dorm).

Nothing to see here, move along

Cant you download torrents then remove the torrent so its not seeding?

It would just be so much easier to download the files of games you own rather than ripping disks... I guess.

Edit:

Probs get a better answer on the Dolphin forums..Im asuming they have forums.

You're better off either using your Wii to dump the games to WBFS format or downloading them.  Using the applications on the PC then have no error correcting and take hours to dump a single disc and the game is the full 4.3GB even the smaller games like Super Paper Mario that is only a couple hundred after scrubbed and compressed into WBFS.

ok, while downloading with torrents it also uploads data, after 1 game i have to wait about 1 week to be able to download another this way in order to be safe from losing my account, and, as for dolphin i try to join but it seems to not let me for some reason, so i asked if anyone here is doing it while i am working on contacting the webmaster, or a forum admin.

wii dump? what is that, all i could find was not helpful. as for ripping them as raw data then converting to iso it will only take about one hour for me (my old drive that failed on an old comp took about 1 hr, 15 min per wii game, but it was an extra long IDE drive so if i used adapters it just wouldn't fit.
